This page was created by McFatter Technical High school students for Black History month in our Chemistry class. The project was to choose an African-American whom has made an impact in the field of chemistry, whether they were/are a chemist or not. The person in which we did our project on is James Andrew Harris, a chemist known for his controversial discovery of the elements Rutherfordium and Hahnium (104 and 105). These pages will cover information such as James Harris's early life, accomplishments, and, most importantly to this project, his contributions to the scientific field of Chemistry.
